McCarthy, Mable Ann (nee: Borkowski). Passed away peacefully at home with her family on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the age of 85 in Shelby Township, Michigan. Beloved wife of Richard J. McCarthy for 62 years. Loving mother of Karen A. Noble (Stephen), Richard T. McCarthy (Denise Hirschmann), Kathie A. Lipka (Stanley), James J. McCarthy and Edward J. McCarthy (Denise). Proud and loving grandmother of Danielle M. Hutchinson (Eric), Richard T. McCarthy II, Kimberly A. Noble, Rebecca A. Dalach (Ethan), Amanda A. Bartolf (Andrew), Joshua J. McCarthy, Adam E. McCarthy, Jenalyn M. McCarthy, James J. McCarthy II and Jaylee A. McCarthy and great-grandmother of Bella M. Hutchinson and Jay B. Bartolf. Beloved daughter of the late Joseph S. and Anna Borkowski (nee: Piotkowski) and sister of the late Irene A. Rawski (Carl), Lottie A. Whitcomb (Harold), and Jennie J. Borkowski. Born August 8, 1934 on the east side of Detroit, Michigan. Mable attended St. Thomas Elementary School and graduated from Denby High School. Post-graduation, Mable began her career as a confidential secretary in the front offices at Briggs Manufacturing (Chrysler Assembly Plant). Mable and Richard were introduced through Richard's sister, who was also Mable's coworker at Chrysler. While dating, they caught the bouquet/garter at four consecutive weddings. Clearly it was meant to be, and they were destined for a lifelong commitment. The couple was married on the 22nd of June 1957. Mable, deeply rooted in her faith, poured her heart into raising five children. Holidays meant homemade Polish cooking and baking. While raising a large family, Mable ran the family business (McCarthy Heating & Cooling) with Richard. Mable was a devoted sister, a lifelong caregiver who put the needs of others before her own. With her warm personality and never-failing sense of humor, Mable made friends wherever she would go. A Truly Special Lady. She will be in our hearts forever. Visitation Friday 4-9pm with a 7:30pm Rosary and Saturday from 9:30am until time of 11am Scripture Service at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc., 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile), Sterling Hts.
