Kenneth Ellis Duncan

Kenneth “Kenny” Ellis Duncan was born on October 5, 1956, in Detroit, MI. His parents Barbara and Kenneth Howard Duncan preceded him in death. Kenny was a selfless, compassionate, strong, loving man with wit and a great sense of humor. He was the best listener, advice giver, and never judged anyone. Music was in his blood since a young boy. He loved to sing and play the drums; often reciting Michael Jackson’s Remember the Time. He loved watching church and sports, especially golf on TV. His favorite go-to meal was a NY strip, medium rare or a lobster tail; hold the veggies. Throughout his life, Kenny was most proud of being a father to his five beautiful children and grandfather to six. He was a girl dad and pushed his daughters to get past their fears even if it meant getting on the biggest rollercoaster at Cedar Point every summer or watching a scary movie in the dark. He had a different connection with all his kids and always knew how to make each one feel special, even if it was a hilarious nickname. He was truly the definition of the best father. Although Kenny loved his children deeply, his grandkids really stole his heart. He made sure they never went without, and he never missed a birthday or holiday. He cherished all the memories of watching them grow up. Kenny loved Jesus. He often reminded his children to “Keep your eyes on Jesus” as his mother, Barbara would always say. He trusted in the Lord and was thankful each day. He always turned to God for the answers and let his kids know everything will be okay if we ask for God’s wisdom. On July 29, 2021, at the age of 64 years old while peacefully sleeping, Kenny was born to his eternal life. Kenny will forever be remembered in the hearts and minds of his greatest joys Kenya, Marty, Kendal, Karrah, and Katrell; grandchildren Rodrick, Ronald, Myah, Cameron, Royale, and MaKenzy; best friend Charlene; siblings Kim, Kirk, and Kris, and a host of other family and friends.
