Joseph Frank Maiorano

MAIORANO, Joseph P. Age 78. Born February 6th, 1943. Beloved Husband of Bronia Maiorano. Loving Father of Michael Maiorano, and Melissa (Scott) Cartwright. Proud and adored grandfather of Conner Cartwright, Collin Cartwright, Corey Cartwright, Mackenzie Maiorano, and Matthew Maiorano. Treasured brother of Jerry (Christine) Maiorano, Dr. Louis (Debbie) Maiorano, and David (Cheryl) Maiorano. Predeceased by his parents, Rose and Salvatore Maiorano. Joe and his extended Italian family clustered on the lower east-side of Detroit. He attended Cass Tech Highschool and afterward attended Lawrence Technological University. He spent a career in commercial and municipal work as a contractor for numerous building projects throughout the Detroit area. In the years 15 years preceeding his retirement, he and Bronia purchased a motel in Petoskey, converting that building from a relic to a destination, called the Bay Winds Hotel off interstate 131. That venture lasted 3 years before being sold. Shortly thereafter they invested in commercial property near the Harbor Springs airport. Joe was an avid skier and spent many weekends at Boyne Mountain as an adult with Family and Friends and later with his grandchildren at Boyne Highlands and Nubs Nob. In his retirement after relocating to West Bloomfield to rejoin his immediate Family. Joe more recently enjoyed working around the house, taking on home projects, and helping his loved ones. He will be forever missed remembered by friends and family as someone who always greeted you with a kiss and loving embrace.
