ZYWOT, Henrietta. 89. Beloved daughter of the late Frank and Katarzyna Krok. Loving mother of Patty (the late Mark) Stegner, Mark (Sandy) Zywot, James (Laurel) Zywot, and the late Richard Zywot. Proud grandmother of Elyse (Evan) Culberson, Kristina (Chad) Cooper, Jenilee Zywot, Suzanne (Mark) Morgan, and Kevin (Jennifer) Sawyers. Loving great-grandmother of Baby Culberson on the way, Tyler and Noah Cooper, Cael, Emmett, Wyatt, and Magnolia Morgan, and Isaac, Maylee, Max, Roxie, and the late Zander Sawyers. Dearest sister of Jennie (the late Bob) Miller, the late Bernice Bator, the late Mitchell Krok, the late Genevieve Grusiecki, and the late William Krok. Proud aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Henrietta was born in Detroit on July 10, 1936 to Frank and Katarzyna Krok, who were first generation Polish immigrants. She was the youngest of six children. She graduated from St. Stanislaus in 1955 and got married, and in 1958, welcomed her daughter, Patty. Henrietta raised Patty as a single mother in Detroit, where she was close to family and friends, including her mother who lived two doors down. They had countless family get togethers filled with homemade Polish food, card games, fun, and laughter. In addition to being a mother, one of Henrietta’s most cherished accomplishments was her career. Henrietta worked in healthcare benefits at Chrysler for over 30 years and was a proud Chrysler retiree. Henrietta recalled her time at Chrysler fondly and was proud not only of her work, but also the dear friendships she made there that lasted a lifetime. Henrietta was truly a revolutionary for her time, and in 1978, she proudly purchased her own home in Roseville. Henrietta went on to marry the love of her life, Stanley Zywot, in 1981, after meeting in Hamtramck and being swept off of her feet by Stanley’s outgoing, loving personality and undeniable sense of humor. Their love was unmatched and rivaled love stories in the movies. Henrietta proudly welcomed Stanley’s sons, Mark, James, and Richard, with open arms and loved them as her own. Together, Henrietta and Stanley had a passion for travel and adventure. When they retired, they road tripped across the United States and Mexico for two months. They enjoyed sharing countless stories of their adventures together, including their love for the Boston area and Stanley’s hot air balloon ride. In 1991, they moved to Troy, a city they loved dearly. Henrietta and Stanley were very proud of their Polish heritage and family traditions. They were active members of the Warren Polka Boosters, where they traveled across Michigan listening to Polka music and dancing, blessed Easter baskets each year at St. Hyacinth, and had Wigilia on Christmas Eve with family. Henrietta loved collecting Polish pottery, cooking Polish food, and speaking Polish with strangers every chance she could. Henrietta and Stanley also had a busy social calendar. They were members of St. Bart’s seniors, where Henrietta made lunches for their weekly meetings, and went to lunch with Stanley’s sister, Nora, every Wednesday after Weight Watchers. They enjoyed hosting card nights, going to Bingo, and going dancing. Henrietta loved her neighbors and was a proud member of the Blairettes, a neighborhood group that planned monthly lunches. Henrietta was a devoted grandmother to Elyse, Kristina, Jenilee, Suzanne, and Kevin, as well as a great-grandmother. She cherished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her love will never be forgotten. Henrietta was a proud aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Henrietta will be remembered as the matriarch of her family and for her unwavering strength, bravery, passion for life, and her love for her family and friends. To know Henrietta was to love her, and she will be deeply missed. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc.
