COLLINS, Harvey, C., It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Harvey Charles Collins, 95, on August 22, 2024. Survived by his loving and inseperable wife Linda of 51 years., and also his children; David (Jacqueline), Dale, Dennis (Mary), Debbie (George), Donna (Randy), and Darcie (Daniel), 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, his sister Sandy along with his beloved pet Bentley. Predeceased by his loving wife Rita of 21 years, Harvey's parents Henry Charles and Vivian and his sister Betty. An avid yachtsman and member of Detroit Yacht Club, North Channel Yacht Club, and the Wandering Mariners, Harvey enjoyed life on the road in his Motor Home and traveling the world abound. Harvey was always drawn to the waters of the world, enjoyed the sun, and wonders of this God given world. In 1956 his adventerous and entrepreneurial spirit led him to start Floorcraft Floor Covering Inc., building it into a world class commercial Flooring empire. He remained active as CFO until his death and developed a patented system that furthered the flooring empire. He served in various board positions including the flooring association, cooperatives and was instrumental in the advancement and refinement of the pension and welfare within the A.F of L. Harvey considered being surrounded by his family as pure joy. He loved family gatherings and individual sharing time with children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Harvey Collins maintained a very close relationship with his children through his lifetime and considered himself a blessed man. Harvey is a remarkable man in his younger years playing amature roller hockey and ice hockey. He excelled as an artisan and entrepreneur in his trade and skilled in all endeavors he put his mind to and never remained idle. Always seeking his next project, and was very active in his late life. Harvey Charles Collins was a true inovator throughout his lifetime. Visitation Monday August 26th from 3-9pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Funeral Tuesday August 27th, instate 10am at St. John Jutheran Church 16339 14 Mile Rd. (West of Utica Rd). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are appreciated to The Salvation Army.
