Nieman, Gary A., May 27, 2023. Age 65. Beloved Husband of Roseann. Loving father of Bethanie (Andrew) Crebessa and Patrick (Brittany) Gallagher. Proud grandfather of Jackson Cole Crebessa and John Patrick Gallagher. Dear brother of Alan (Mary) Nieman, Karen (Dave) Schepke, David Nieman, Michael (Lisa) Nieman and William Beatty. Adoring Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Gary was the kindest, most caring person anyone could have the pleasure to meet. His presence was marked with a smile as warm as the sun and an endless supply of laughter. Gary was welcomed home by his loving parents, Ronald and Barbara Nieman, whom he adored. Gary loved meeting them every winter in Naples, Florida to run a race and take his mom to the Naples Symphony. Gary and his father shared their love of Tiger baseball and watched as many games together as possible. Gary studied Computer Technology at Oakland University, even though he longed to be a teacher. But it seemed as though he was always teaching in his own way. Gary always taught us all to be the best version of ourselves. To be honest and fair, to follow the rules and to especially know how to apologize. He just made you want to be a better person. Gary was destined to become a part of the ever-growing field of Information Technology and was well acquainted with OEM's and countless Second Tier automotive suppliers. Saving the best for last; Gary finished his career by working for DENSO as a Senior Manager. He was a great leader and innovator. Gary's dedication to his career spanned over 43 years. While working at TRW Automotive Systems, he met Roseann and her children, Bethanie and Patrick. Gary was extremely committed to being the best step-father and took his role seriously as a mentor while maintaining a loving and structured household. Gary spent countless hours helping the kids with their homework. History, math and science were his specialties. His favorite homework quote..."What is MATTER!?" Gary and Roseann were married on June 10th, 2000. It's been a journey of love and challenges, excitement and laughter, growing pains and mostly just pure JOY. Many family trips up north, traveling to watch volleyball, baseball, golf, etc. Once the family started to grow, Gary adored his son-in-law Andrew and daughter-in-law Brittany; always making them feel especially loved. Once Bethanie moved to South Carolina, visits became extra special and Gary loved to attend minor league baseball games and run in the warmth of the southern sunshine. Gary loved running so much that he amassed hundreds of race shirts over the years, enough to make a large blanket of memories. Gary's fondness for running was a source of solace and stress relief. He only wanted one thing for Christmas every year; a new pair of Nike Air Pegasus running shoes. Always so easy to please, Gary didn't care what color they were. He didn't care what kind of car he drove. Gary never took anything from this world. He only gave. He gave his whole attention and focus to everything he put his mind to; raising happy, well adjusted children, being a dedicated husband, a reliable employee, a great friend and animal lover. He excelled at all of those things and more. Gary loved to work in the yard, get his hands dirty and at the end of the day, sit around a nice fire pit with a beer, cigar and just enjoy the moment. Gary could possibly be the most selfless person anyone will ever come to know. He lit up the world with his smile and his laughter would literally bring people together. We were all so blessed to have had the chance to know him and to be graced by his friendship and his love. Visitation Friday 3:00pm -9:00pm with a 7:00pm Rosary at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. Shelby Township (54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Road). Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, June 3rd at St. Joseph Catholic Church (715 N. Lapeer Road, Lake Orion) Instate 10:30am until time of Mass at 11:00am.
