Gail Patricia Trevino

Gail Patricia (nee Willard) Trevino, born April 22, 1949, deceased March 29, 2018 Beloved wife of David Ruben Trevino, dear mother of Jennifer Jane Marshall, and loving grandmother to Jackson W Marshall. Survived by sisters Melody (nee Willard) (Richard) Cholak, Candace (nee Cary) Nischalke, brother Timothy Cary (Sarah) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Angela Trevino, granddaughter Elizabeth Jane Marshall, brother Paul Willard and sister Janie (nee Willard) (Henry) Meabrod. Gail was a longtime supporter of Detroit Chapter 9 of the Vietnam Veterans of America and worked alongside her husband, David, helping area veterans until her health prevented many of her activities. Gail was a proud member of the Macomb County Marine Corps League Auxiliary. She was very proud of her husband, a Marine Corps veteran and daughter, who is currently active duty in the Navy and anyone in a uniform. Gail and Dave met many, many years ago and were married on June 1st, 1973. They enjoyed traveling all over the states and making it to Kansas City as much as possible to visit Jennifer and Jackson. Gail was the life of the party and she and her husband could clear a dancefloor at a wedding or party so everyone could watch them dance. Jackson remembers his grandmother, he always called her Mema, reading to him from the Bible and telling him to listen because he will need it someday. They would also sit and draw together for hours. Gail was an amazing artist. Dave and Jennifer always wanted her to draw, paint, and write poetry and sell it, but she could never see the pure beauty in it as we did. Gail did share her artwork and writings with friends and family, but her family wanted her to share it with the world. After reading many condolences online it shows that Gail left an amazing impression on everyone she met. Many people have said how much fun she was and that she was always cracking jokes and making everyone laugh, and if you knew her very well you would know she never wanted a sad funeral but a wonderful celebration of life. She would not want anyone to be sad but to rejoice in the fact of being part of her life. Most importantly Gail was baptized in Christ and her faith gave her great comfort especially in her final days. Jesus was always first in her life and being baptized finally put her soul at ease. We will always have Gail in our hearts and remember all the wonderful moments we shared with her.
