Ernest I. Pizzimenti

ERNEST I. PIZZIMENTI passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 90. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Ernie lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by the people he cared for most. Ernie was the devoted husband of Mary for 68 years. He was born in Detroit on January 2, 1935, to Maria and George Pizzimenti, Italian immigrants. Ernie attended St. Philip Neri High School, where he played running back on the football team and built friendships that lasted a lifetime. Ernie is survived by his wife Mary and their seven children: Gary (Pamela), Jerry (Miriam), Paul (the late Sharon), Donald (Michelle), Robert, Joseph (Lisa), and Donna (Rob) Bruza. He was a proud grandfather to 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy. In 1969, Ernie started E&R Industrial Sales, which grew into a successful business through his hard work and the dedication of his employees. His efforts and leadership left a lasting impact on many. Ernie had a love for the Detroit Lions and held season tickets for many years. He also loved boating and spent countless hours on the water creating wonderful memories with family and friends aboard his boats, each one named "The Mary Ellen" in honor of his wife. He enjoyed a good plate of pasta and an occasional Old Fashioned. Faith was central to Ernie’s life. A devout Catholic, he attended daily Mass with Mary and lived his life guided by strong principles and devotion to God. Ernie will be remembered as a kind, hardworking, and generous man who made a difference in the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation where family and friends are invited to celebrate his remarkable journey will take place Sunday 2-9pm with 7:00pm Rosary at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile (SHELBY TOWNSHIP). Funeral Monday Instate 11:30am at St. Kieran Church 53600 Mound Rd. (btw. 24 & 25 Mile Rds. until time of Mass at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Right to Life of Michigan or St. Kieran Catholic Church in memory of Ernie Pizzimmenti. Entombment Guardian Angel Cemetery.
