Ella Jane Trombley

With a smile that could light up any room, Ella Jane Trombley graced this world for 101 fabulous years before setting off on her next adventure on September 2, 2024. Born on March 2, 1923 in Harrison Township, Michigan, Jane defied the odds and lived a life filled with wit, wisdom, and an uncanny ability to outlast everyone around her. From her early days of raising two boys, her love of football (she insisted that Patrick Mahomes was her football boyfriend, but loved the Lions), boating and bingo at the Harrison Township Senior Center, Jane was known for her friendly personality. Her family will always remember her for her dance moves – she LOVED dancing and never missed an opportunity to hit the dance floor. Jane made every day an adventure. She often said that the key to her long life was a can a beer a day. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who cherished her role as the family’s matriarch. Her family will fondly remember her stories of her marriage to Earl, her house on Rathbone and her time living on the Clinton River Jane is survived by eight grandchildren David (Christine), Richard, Michael (Lisa), Bridget (Hyme) Nunez, Gregory (Kristina), Scott (Anne), Edward (Janet) and Paul, many great-grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends who will celebrate her remarkable life and cherish the countless memories she left behind. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Earl, her sons Dennis and Dick and her siblings, Marilyn (her partner in crime), and brothers Herb and Norm, who definitely welcomed her with open arms and an enthusiastic welcome. A celebration of Jane’s extraordinary life will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. She’ll lie in state beginning at 10:30 at St. Hubert’s Catholic Church in Harrison Township, followed by a Mass. After the cemetery, we invite everyone to a luncheon at Sajo’s in Clinton Township. We ask that attendees come prepared with a few stories of her escapades. In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to Brighton Hospice, https://brightonhospice.com, who provided extraordinary care for Jane or simply a promise to pay it forward in her honor by sharing a smile with someone in need. Though she has left us, Jane’s spirit and energy will continue to inspire and delight all who had the privilege of knowing her.
