Cody Perry Nichols

Surrounded by his family, Cody Perry Nichols passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2024 at the age of 29. Proud and loving father of Ruth Lynn and Lucas Perry. Beloved son of Holly Nichols. Cherished brother of Brandi (Tom) Rochon and Cory. Loving soulmate of Kierstyn Bell. Adored grandson of Don and Judy Little & Bob and Bonnie Anderson. Also survived by his niece, nephew and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Cody fought the battle against Ewing’s Sarcoma for 5 years with a brave and positive attitude. Not wanting cancer to define him, he never sulked for long and appreciated each day that God granted him. Cody’s faith in the Lord was strong. He believed that God is good, all the time. He feared leaving his loved ones behind but was excited to meet his savior, Jesus. His testimony touched so many lives in the Woodside Romeo community and beyond. Cody enjoyed lifting weights and working out, often 5 times a week and after chemo treatments. He had pride in his physical accomplishments made at the gym and loved helping others in their fitness journey. Spending time fishing out on the lake was how he wanted to spend much of the summer time. Cody felt most peaceful out on the boat in the quiet waters. Thrill-seeking jet ski rides terrified all of his family. Cody’s passion for sports started at a young age. He loved the teamwork, dedication, and lifelong friendships that were made through sports, especially basketball. Above all, his favorite moments were spent being a playful and goofy Dada. Whether it was popping wheelie’s on his bike for the kids, coaching Lucas’ basketball game or encouraging Ruth and Lucas’ love of Pokémon, it brought Cody such joy just to be with family. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 3:00pm-9:00pm and Thursday from 2:00pm-8:00pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons (54880 Van Dyke Ave - Shelby Township). Funeral will take place on Friday 10:00am at Woodside Bible Church, Romeo Campus (7800 32 Mile Road, Washington). Procession afterward to Guardian Angel Cemetery (4701 N Rochester Rd, Rochester). A memorial luncheon will be held immediately following at Shelby Gardens (50265 Van Dyke, Shelby Township) from 1-4pm.
