Caterina Lentini

Caterina “Tita” Lentini Caterina Vultaggio Lentini, who was affectionately known as Tita, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Her last moments were spent surrounded by all those who loved her. Born in Purgatorio, Sicily on October 28, 1940, Tita was the third daughter of Alfio and Maria Stella (Musico) Vultaggio. At an early age, she worked as a seamstress to help her family with extra money. Tita and her family lived next door to her soulmate Giuseppe (Pino) Lentini. They would later marry on September 19, 1959. In 1972, Tita and Pino immigrated to Detroit with their three sons, Alessandro, Alfredo, and Maurizio. She would later be blessed with her daughter-in-laws Virginia and Deborah. The couple eventually moved to Warren and lived there for over 30 years. Pino would eventually build Tita her dream home in Macomb Township. Because Tita’s biggest passion was her family, both homes would go on to host countless gatherings full of family, love, laughter, card games, and lots of delicious foods. Tita’s love for her husband and sons could only be rivaled by the love she also had for her 6 grandchildren; Caterina (Gerald), Giuseppe (Desiree), Angela (Scott), Alessandra, Marco, and Elizabeth, and 5 great-grandchildren; Gino, Camilla, Enzo, Aaliyah, and Bria. She was the matriarch and hero to her family. Her constant selflessness made her deeply loved and the glue that held all generations of her family together. Tita was a longtime member of Custonaci Club. Tita is now reunited in heaven with her parents, three sisters; Crocifissa (Sina), Maria, and Rosa (Rosetta), and mother and father-in-law Concetta (Ruffino) and Alessandro Lentini. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws Anna Maria (Joseph) Vultaggio and Caterina (Matte) Moric, nephews Joseph Vultaggio, Matteo (Rebekah) Moric, Giuseppe (Caterina) Cipponeri, and nieces Kathy (Melino) DiBenedetto, Sabrina (Steve) Gasperoni, Romina (Greg) Dunnam, Giuseppina (late Nino Mazzara) Cipponeri, Teresa (Andrea) Virgilio, Mimma (Enzo) Poma, Maria Stella Alastra. Visitation Sunday 3-9pm with 7:00pm Rosary at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rd. (SHELBY TOWNSHIP). Funeral Monday Instate 9:30am at St. John Vianney 54045 Schoenherr (btw 24 & 25 Mile Rds.) until time of Mass at 10:00am. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
