Bernadine June Thompson

Bernadine June Thompson 90 Bernadine was born June 21, 1930 at the home of her parents Alfred Weidman and Elizabeth Staehi in Huron County, Elkton Michigan. She grew up on the farm with her 10 siblings. After graduating from Elkton High School in 1948, she went to Highland Park looking for work and worked for four years. She soon met Kenneth Thompson and later married on February 25th, 1956 at the Church of God in Bad Axe Michigan (They just celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary.) After being married they lived in Ferndale until moving to Shelby Twp. Michigan at the home Kenneth built. Bernadine passed away June 14th, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her two children Beth (Thomas) Guilstorf and Thomas (Cynthia) Thompson. Three loving Grandaughters Jayme Swientonjowski, Stacey (Anthony) Weeks, and Casey Anne (Robert) Dersa. Six adored Great-Grandchildren Brendan, Cameron, Patrick, Emma, Alexis, and Dale. Bernadine was a member of the Missionary Church where she was the treasurer, taught Sunday school, played the piano/organ, and was involved in women's ministry. She transferred her membership to Shelby Bible Church in her later years. She was a devout Christian that loved to serve others. Bernadine's joy's were sewing, baking, her 3 granddaughters and 6 great grandchildren. She was a loving wife and mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. Bernadine was thoughtful and caring putting other people's needs before her own. Proceeding her in death are her parents Alfred and Elizabeth Weidman. Her siblings Clifford Weidman, Mary Reibling, Donna Burk, Orville Weidman, and Lester Weidman. Survived by her husband Kenneth Thompson and her siblings Eunice Tripp, Herbert (Ellen) Weidman, Sabina (Kenneth) Johnston, Donald Weidman, Gary (Deborah) Weidman. Visitation at WujekCalcaterra & Sons, Inc. (Shelby Twp.) 54880 Van Dyke at 25 Mile Rd. Thursday 3-9 pm. Instate Friday 10 am at Shelby Bible Church 47905 Hayes ( Bet. 21 & 22 Mile Rd.) until time of service at 11 am. Burial Christian Memorial Cultural Center.
