Anthony Joseph Guido

Anthony Joseph Guido passed away on March 17th, 2024 at the age of 59. Anthony was gentle, intelligent, independent, and kind. He loved the Lord and his family more than anything. Anthony met Ellen in the summer of 1994 at the Catholic Alumni Club; they were engaged on Valentine's Day in 1995 and married that same summer, August 5th, 1995. Anthony and Ellen knew they wanted to grow their family, welcoming Analisa in 1996 and Joseph in 1998. Anthony held both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in English/Communications from Oakland University and Wayne State University, respectively. He applied his studies through a long career with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and was a founding employee of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2002. In his free time, he enjoyed being outside in the garden and taking lakeside drives along Jefferson. He was passionate about cars, especially Honda, Fiat, and Ferrari - you could view many model cars adorning his bookcases and shelves. He loved to watch action movies such as the Top Gun, Indiana Jones, and James Bond films. Anthony had a soft spot for animals and is survived by his two best kitty friends, Pearl and Kitten. Anthony officially retired in 2018. He spent the last several years enjoying time with his wife, Ellen, and taking road trips up north. Anthony loved attending church services and spending time with the congregation at Victory Church. In the evenings, he could be found reading his Bible, listening to his radio, and relaxing with family. Anthony is survived by his beloved wife Ellen (nee Block), his children Analisa (Nick) Thomas and Joseph Guido, his siblings Patrick (Christine) Guido and Theresa Maria (Paul) Ciaravino, and his mother Theresa Guido. He was greeted in heaven by his late father Joseph Guido. Anthony is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 22nd, from 3-9pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile Rd). Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 23rd, with instate at 10am at Victory Church 42850 Hayes (Between 19 Mile and Canal Rds) until time of the Funeral Service at 11am. Entombment will be immediately followed at Resurrection Cemetery. A luncheon will follow around 1pm at Villa Penna 43985 Hayes Rd in Sterling Heights.
