Anna Marie Izzi

IZZI, Anna Marie of Ira Township, passed away on May 31, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Paul Izzi (2020). Loving mother of Tina (Mark) Huetter and Donna (Jim) Cook. Proud grandmother of Marc (Bridget), Alexandra (fiance Justin), James (fiancee Ashley), and Isabella (Sam). Cherished great-grandmother of Blake, Josephine, and Luca. Anna was the dear daughter of the late Agostino and the late Maria (nee Trupiano) Giordano. She was the dear sister of Phyllis (Robert) Brunet, Salvatore (Mary) Giordano, Joseph (Cheryl) Giordano, the late Agostino (Yvonne) Giordano and the late Antonino Giordano. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Anna was born in Terrasini, Sicily, in 1942 and immigrated to the United States in 1946. She married Paul on September 9, 1961 at St. David Catholic Church. The couple lived in Detroit and their union was blessed with two loving daughters whom she loved and cherished. They built a home in Clinton Township in 1966, and in 1989, seeking more space they moved to Ira Township. Anna’s children and grandchildren have many fond memories of life on the farm with all of their animals. Anna was known for her kind heart, generosity and dedication to family. She took immense pride in her home and cherished having family over. Holidays and family gatherings were very important to Anna, and she created warm and lasting memories for everyone involved. Capturing these moments was another joy of Anna’s life, and she was rarely seen without a camera in her hand. Those photographs are cherished memories for all who knew her. Anna loved feeding her family and was known for making the best spaghetti and stuffed meatballs. In celebrating Anna’s life, we remember her unwavering kindness, devotion to her family and the countless lives she touched with her generosity and compassion. Anna was selfless and always put other people before herself. Anna’s legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her. Anna will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her memory will live on in all of our hearts forever. Visitation will be held at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, 36900 Schoenherr, Sterling Heights, Michigan on June 10, 2024, from 9:00-11:00 a.m., with the funeral service being held at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be at Glen Eden Memorial Park-East at 19810 26 Mile Rd, Macomb, MI 48042.
